Every Cocoa Tag begins in Italy, where our material partners select each batch of sustainable Italian PU against exacting standards of texture, durability, and colour consistency. The deep cognac shade is achieved through a meticulous dyeing process, colour-matched per batch to ensure absolute consistency from the first piece to the last.
In our Dubai studio, each panel is cut using precision steel dies engineered to Eclat Leather's original Florence drawings. Steel-die cutting ensures every Cocoa Tag is identical in dimension — the hallmark of true craft production.
Our Dubai artisans stitch every tag by hand using ivory waxed linen thread at eight stitches per centimetre — a density associated with the finest Italian saddlery. The thread is pre-waxed for water resistance and lock-stitched at each end.
Every exposed edge is burnished by hand using bone tools — a technique unchanged since the 15th century Florentine workshops. This compresses and seals the edge fibres, creating the smooth polished border that distinguishes a truly finished leather good. After burnishing it is given three coat edge paint from Italy.
Every completed Cocoa Tag is individually inspected against our 22-point quality checklist. Stitch consistency, edge finish, hardware seating, colour uniformity — each parameter is checked by eye and by hand. We do not ship second-quality product.
